It has been a good week for Linpop, we have been recently connecting 15 to 20 customers a week.

One of our recently connected customers Simon Judge had this to say. :-

"Thank you for the broadband you recently installed. Despite a few teething problems getting the signal your team were extremely helpful and proactive in resolving the matters.

I am delighted with the speed of broadband and would like to congratulate your company for taking the challenge on when many talk about it but do little or nothing. A great initiative. John and his team were extremely courteous and considerate. Great ambassadors for linpop."

Linpop has received it's first domestic customer review

Taken from ISPreview (Click to see actual review)

For years we have had to suffer with slow Internet speeds and mobile connections. The promise of faster connections via our current service providers always seems to be light-years away. Thanks to LINPOP one of these issues has been blown away by a high-speed internet connection that so far seems to be robust and reliable. With 20 times the speed of my old BT broadband connection I can now utilise my computer and other gadgets to their full potential. I look forward to Linpop offering a VOIP service; with the current speeds offered BT may become a thing of the past for me in Ingham. The LINPOP team have been extremely helpful and the transition from one service provider to the other went very smoothly.

Case study by Onlincolnshire on RASE Distribution singing Linpop's praises..

Link to article on Onlincolnshire website

In April 2011, we looked at the difficulties that Rase Distribution had with getting good broadband at their base at Wickenby Airfield. Since then, the story has moved on.....

Since being founded in 1967, Rase Distribution has grown to employ around 100 staff from their two bases in Lincolnshire – Wickenby Airfield and Bardney.

The business is very IT and web reliant - Geoff Hill, Managing Director says: “as a leading logistics firm, we’re always expanding what our customers can access directly with us via the Internet, and we needed good broadband to do that.

We were getting broadband speeds of only 2.75Mbps download and about 0.5Mbps upload at Wickenby – totally inadequate for our needs. Bardney, our other offices were a little better – but since they accessed the Wickenby office servers via the web, they still had the same issues!”

Ian Lovely, General Manager expanded on this: “Our customers place their orders and access a whole range of information about their orders, where the vehicles with their consignment are etc by accessing our internal systems via our website.

With poor quality broadband, the peak user times of 10 am and 2 pm for placing orders were a real issue for both us and our customers – it was a bottleneck.”

Things have since progressed well for the business – since 1 January, they have signed a contract with Linpop (from Hemswell Cliff) to provide broadband via wireless from their transmitter at Ingham.

The receiving mast at Rase is only a temporary, ex-military one, but the results have already been impressive.

Geoff said “the system has performed very well indeed – we get a minimum of just over 6Mbps download, and an amazing 4Mbps upload, 8 times faster than we were previously achieving.

We’ve had speeds of 10Mbps download too, and even with the high winds that we had earlier this year, these figures remained constant – very impressive.”

Ian continues: “Our broadband is a key enabler that lets us offer great services to our customers and give us a competitive edge.

With our new broadband system, I’m happy to say that our 10 am and 2 pm bottlenecks simply don’t exist anymore – our customers can easily access our backend systems to place and find out information about their orders at their convenience.

We can now develop our business further, knowing the broadband will be an enabler, not the barrier it previously was!”

Wireless 10Mbps Broadband Extended To Market Rasen

Link to article on Onlincolnshire website

Households and businesses in Market Rasen and from the Wragby area through to Linwood in Lincolnshire will be able to access wireless broadband of 10Mbps thanks to a new mast.

Gainsborough-based Linpop installed a new mast at Lissington, which extends network coverage of wireless broadband from Wragby, near Lincoln, to Linwood, near Market Rasen.

The service testing is completed at Market Rasen and is programmed to be “lit-up” by the end of March, and full service provision to the Market Rasen population will be available from April. Support from the Town Council has been instrumental in having the mast availability in the centre of the town.

In addition to the conventional service provision for the town, a “Buy As You Go” service is being implemented – this will allow visitors to log on – for a day – pay with a credit card and use the full service, on demand.

Monthly prices for home connections start at £30 for 10Mbps download speed and 1Mb upload speed, up to £250 per month for small and medium businesses needing up to 10 connections at 10Mbps download and 4Mbps upload speeds.

The Ingham and Hemswell masts are also providing service to the cliff villages and beyond between the B1398 and the Trent River, and from the B1396 to the west side of the Lincolnshire Wolds.
